Every February 12 the BANFILEÑOS / AS feel more the absence of Julio Cortazar, who died on this date in 1984. But his work, which is more alive than ever, invites us to continue traveling the roads of Cronopios or La Maga.
To mark the 26th anniversary of his death the European DRILL PEÑA yielded a simple but heartfelt tribute to the Master neighbor, putting a red rose with a coat of Banfield in his grave, in sector 3 of the Paris Montparnasse cemetery, an act which we have represented our entire city, honoring the distinguished writer.
Cortazar grew up in Banfield and studied at the School No. 10 "Julio Argentino Roca in the street Pueyrredón 1800, between Cabrera and Serrano.
From here we invite you to read his stories and novels, to comment on our website to keep his work latent literarura pillar of Speech Castilian pride in our neighborhood.
Julio Cortázar banfileño never forgot the neighborhood and gave him several lines.
"It was that kind of neighborhood, very suburban, so often find in the words of the tangos: unpaved roads, little lanterns on the corners, a very bad light favoring love and crime in equal parts, and that made my childhood was a cautious and fearful children, because mothers were very afraid for the children. There was an atmosphere at times unsettling in such places. At the same time was a paradise: the house had a large garden overlooking other gardens. A garden full of cats, dogs, turtles and parrots: a paradise. But in this garden and I was Adam in the sense that I no longer have happy memories of my childhood, too many tasks, oversensitivity, common grief, asthma, broken arms, desperate first love (my story has a lot of poisons autobiographical). However, this was my kingdom, and came back to him, I recalled in some stories, because I am still very present, very alive. " (Julio Cortazar on Banfield)

Thanks to the friends who accompanied the initiative: Beto, Marcelo and Vicky for the photos.
I liked nestor!
What we celebrate now, with the happy hangover of another international victory.
Greetings!
A pleasure to have been there. And having taken the photos ... ...
A detail is that in the tomb of Cortazar, there is a hole, a square cut in the marble, where people enter books, and who knows what else ... ... .... It is a special place ... ....
Vicky, in that hole the next time we will put something that July would love ... a pack of Gitanes and a bottle of Bordeaux, although the latter we could share there, no?.
Yes, we serve a cup and the rest of us take it for him .. The Gitanes packet, I think also a good idea ... ... Hold Banfield!
